International Lead Zinc Research Organization, Inc. (ILZRO) is the research arm of the world's lead and zinc industries. This site contains information on current research programs involving lead and zinc, as well as numerous publications and newsletters covering product applications and environment and health issues.

International Council on Metals and the Environment (ICME) represents the interests of the international non-ferrous and precious metals industry with respect to promoting sound environmental and health policies and practices to ensure the safe production, use, recycling and disposal of metals.

Lead Development Association International (LDAI) is a market development association for the global lead industry. This site contains useful information on lead uses and applications, as well as information on upcoming lead-related conferences sponsored by LDAI.

Lead Industries Association (LIA) is a market development association for the North American lead industry. This site offers information on lead uses and benefits, as well as environmental issues.

International Lead Zinc Study Group (ILZSG) is an intergovernmental organization which brings together thirty member countries in an international forum to exchange information on lead and zinc. ILZSG provides a unique and globally recognized source of industry statistics.

Organization for Economic Cooperation & Development (OECD) is an intergovernmental organization representing the industrialized democracies whose mandate is to study and formulate the "best policies possible in all economic and social spheres." There are numerous sub-programs of the OECD, two of which are very relevant to the metals industry, including the OECD Chemicals Program and the OECD Program on Chemical Risk Management where a copy of the OECD Monograph on Lead Risk Reduction can be obtained.

United Nations Conference on Trade & Development (UNCTAD) is the focal point within the United Nations system for the integrated treatment of issues in the areas of trade, finance, technology, investment, and sustainable development. UNCTAD is responsible for facilitating the integration of developing countries and countries in transition into the international trading system and for promoting development through trade and investment. UNCTAD's work is geared to the special needs of developing countries, particularly the least developed countries (LDCs).

United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) is an intergovernmental organization whose mandate is to provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations.

UNEP's - Industry & Environment Centre (UNEP-IE) seeks to promote cleaner and safer industrial production and consumption patterns through consensus building, assistance in formulating policies and strategies, defining and encouraging the incorporation of environmental criteria in industrial production, and information exchange.

United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a specialist agency of the United Nations dedicated to promoting sustainable industrial development in countries with developing and transition economies. UNIDO seeks to harness the joint forces of government and the private sector to foster competitive industrial production, develop international industrial partnerships and promote socially equitable and environmentally friendly industrial development. They are the only worldwide organization dealing exclusively with industry from a development perspective .

World Health Organization (WHO) is an intergovernmental organization whos objective is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. Health, as defined in the WHO Constitution, is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. In support of its main objective, the Organization has a wide range of functions involving technical co-operation and co-ordination of health services.
